Grooming Supplies For Horses

What supplies and things should I have for my horse?

This will be my third horse, I haven’t been riding for about 5yrs and I’m trying to get prepared for the horse I’ll be getting. I have all the basic and obvious things I’ll need ( grooming supplies, saddle pads, saddle, and bridle) I’m doing ruff board so I’m going to get his water buckets, grain, hay, shavings etc. What other things should I have? And what should I have in my first aid kit?

How does a person get pet grooming experience?

I’ve noticed that all of the ads for pet groomer positions require experience and none seem to offer on-the-job training.

At the larger pet store, like petco and petsmart, you dont need experience. You start off as a bather, then can take classes to be a groomer. The schooling is free and you get paid to go. I started a month ago at Petco, with only cashiering experience. It can be done. However, volunteer somewhere. Volunteering counts as experience. Good Luck!

Horse Tack wholesale supply?

I’m wanting to become a tack dealer and can not seem to find a good wholesale distributor. I have looked at tackwholesale.com , but aren’t very responsive and only offer a 10-20% discount, which is not that great. I’m looking to sell bits, headstalls, lead ropes, halters, pads, and other misc….maybe a few saddles after I get started, but not a must have for right now.

You need to find a local saddlery that will sell you tack cheap in bulk.
